November 2008

Rona & Daigon's Wedding: Our friend, Rona, married Dagan on Friday November 28th. It was a gorgeous ceremony, a very small and private wedding. We were so honored to be included. There were about 30 people in attendance, and the ceremony was conducted at sunset. It was followed by a Seven Course dinner at the Rampart Casino's "Carmel" resturant. An absolutely wonderful wedding! Congratulations!!!

Thanksgiving: We spent Thanksgiving Day with Brook, James and their family. It was a really nice time. We played with their kids, Dave helped in the kitchen, played Domino's & Spades, and felt so welcome with their family. It was a blessing to be able to share the day with such good friends and be included in their celebration.

Thanksgiving Eve: We met up with our friends, Jackie & Nick, at Fremont Street. Nick's friend Murray was in town for a visit, and he was quite a pro at those gambling tables! It was fun wandering bit and hanging out!

Rona's Bachelorette Party: Rona's Girl's Night was a huge succcess. Shelley surprised the party with Playboy Tee Shirts asking "Wish you could play with us?" Rona was gifted with lots of "naughty" treats and of course her attire! Rona's mom even paid some guy from the bar $10 to dance on the table! We think the party was a success!!

Turkey Trot 5K: We participated in the Turkey Trot 5K run on Nov. 22. Dave ran it in 23 minutes, and Shelley ran it in just under 32 minutes. It was a really fun experience! Dave came in 2nd in his division...and Shelley didn't walk at all! That is an accomplishment!

Fighting Gila Monster Volleyball Team : The Fighting Gila Monster's finished their season. The season was a lot of fun - and everyone had an awesome time...of course, because we had matching shirts, Shelley as a their Secret Weapon, and Dave's Flying Squirrel.

UNLV Basketball Games: We attended two of the basketball games during UNLV's opening week of games. We went with our two friends, Liz and John. Each time, we had comped tickets - one basically on the court...and then the other nosebleed seats! The games are absolutely a blast!!!

Ka Show: While Kelly & Scott were in town visiting we all went to one of the Cirque du Soleil shows, Ka. Scott was amazed by the stage that they had - it twisted and turned...quite amazing. It was a great show and probably one of the best Cirque shows we have seen!!!

Kelly & Scott Visit: Kelly and Scott came out to visit us! It was so much fun having them out here! We went to the Wrangler's Hockey Game, Harrah's Piano Bar - with dueling pianos, Kelly & Shelley shopped, we watched the Bear's Game, and got to really spend some "quality" time togther. It was so great and so much fun!

Pop Warner Cheer Competition: The Lonestars had their competition and placed 2nd! Shelley thinks they should have gotten 1st, but eh...it happens! The girls were a bit disappointed that they didn't win 1st - but second is pretty darn good!

Being a Tourist With Jonica: While Jonica was in town, Shelley took her down to all the "touristy" places. They stopped at "The Sign," the Bellagio Fountain, and the Bellagio Conservatory.

Hiking at Mount Charleston: We took Jonica up to Mount Charleston. We hiked up to the top of a peak. We took the dogs with us, and Charlie was quite the trooper. Staley was in her element :)

Drinks at The Lake House: We spent an evening at Kristin's Families Lake House. We had pizza and chocolatini's. We think all the ingrediants of a good evening!

UNLV vs. TCU (BCA Performance): Shelley's middle school cheer squad performed at the UNLV vs TCU football game. It was the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Performance. The girl's did an amazing job! Jackie, Nick, Jonica, Kristin & Meghan all came to support them! What good friends we have!!
