End of the School Year

The end of the school was a complete blur!!

We had several people in town that we were able to visit with. Shelley’s good friend Julie stopped in Vegas on her way to visit family in California, as well as on her way back. There were some issues with her Rental Car, and Julie ended up taking our Escape to California, while we cruised around in another massive truck. We were able to have dinner with her at Margaritaville before meeting up with more visitors….Dave’s Aunt Connie and Uncle Jeff stopped in Vegas on their circuit of America with their grand-daughter Hailey. We did a little bit of sight-seeing around the Flamingo, and indulged in some ice cream.

During school, we had awards ceremonies for all grades, and Shelley was asked to present during the 6^th & 7^th grade awards. Shelley also chaperoned the 8^th Grade Formal, which was a throw-back to her Senior Homecoming with Hollywood Nights as the theme. The Field Day, was a great success too, especially the balloon toss!!!

We were able to attend the Pre-School Graduation of our “godson” Logan, and it was such a wonderful ceremony! Each of the graduates had their own Bible verse and had to say what they wanted to be when they grew up…Logan wants to be a nurse, just like his mom!! ADORABLE! They had a small celebration back at their house with cake and ice cream.

Over Memorial Day weekend, we had a Vegas celebration of Kresstivus…Margarita Maddness. We went to a 51’s Baseball Game (where we got free shirts) and then headed back to our house where we served up lots of yummy goodness. The girls also celebrated the release of Sex in the City II, the next night, with dinner at La Rossa and then a late night screening. It was a wonderful weekend to spend with friends!

The official end of the school was celebrated at the pub at Main Street Station. They had wonderful appetizers set up for us, and it was a great opportunity to see everyone one last time before heading off for the summer.

Before heading back to IL, we had a few pool days with Brittany and Kristin, lazing in the pool and soaking up the rays is a perfect way to start the summer. Shelley also attended First Friday, and Arts Festival in the Arts District. Independent artists and galleries open up late and cater to those who are “not artistic.” We spent an evening with our Bourgoin Babies, babysitting... and Dave was able to head to the greens for a few rounds of golf.
