April

Shelley's Grandma Darva (Josie's Great-Grandma) celebrated her 80th birthday with Coffee and Cake at her local restaurant. We're so happy that she was able to celebrate with family and friends (although we were not able to be there).

Dave's track season is in full swing, and because of the Pole Vault Club that Dave is running, he has had a busy season! He has vaulters from numerous schools, as well as from Durango, where he coaches. He has been very dedicated to being at their meets, and coaching them to some amazing PR's! Regional’s and State will be in May. Josie has been a big supporter of her Daddy's coaching. She has attended several practices, as well as several track meets - she even has her own custom onsie stating "I'd Rather Be Pole Vaulting."

Dave also ran the Middle School Track Program at Gibson this season. The final meet should have been the middle of April...but it was a shock to see snow the day of the meet, and it has been postponed to May. We're really hoping to see our students do a wonderful job.

The Boy's Soccer season ended on the 28th with a overall record of only 1 tie, and only 1 loss. They are expecting a 1st Place in Gibson's division!

Shelley was able to spend some quality time with Josie's Auntie KK (Kristin Kohorst) over spring break. They had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes, and had a movie night and Kristin's. Shelley also took Josie shopping with her Auntie Jackie.

We celebrated Josie's first Easter with and Easter Egg Hunt in the morning at church, the actual church service, and then dinner at our home for all of our closest friends. We had a large group able to make it for the holiday - including Grandma Debbie who arrived back in Vegas that day. We had an amazing spread of food and everyone is still eating leftovers and we merge into May! It was wonderful to spend the holiday with people we love and who we feel are truly family.

Dave's cousin Trish, and her husband James managed to Get-Away from the ugly of Illinois for a few days, and we were lucky enough to have them over for dinner. It was great to show them our house and catch-up on all the happenings in each other's lives.

Shelley & our friend Brittany hosted a 30th birthday party on the strip for our friend Rachel. They were able to get a hotel at City Center in Aria for a night (thanks to Melissa who was attending a convention there). We had dinner at Lemongrass and attended a show. Rachel had a great time, as well as all of her guests! Brittany and Shelley are getting quite proficient at this party planning stuff - they are considering a side business :)

Our good-good friend, Melissa, came to Vegas on the pretext of a convention. She came early and will stay late in order to spend some quality time with us. One evening, we went out to Town Square for dinner at California Pizza Kitchen...her husband will be flying in to meet up with her and we'll be celebrating Kresstivus!
