Playing "Catch-Up"
Our beautiful baby girl, Josie (aka Josephine Renee Kress) was born on January 21st – she weighed 6lbs 8ozs, and she was the most beautiful baby we’ve ever seen (seriously, she was born face-up and she never bruised, she never had that “newborn” look). We can’t even begin to describe the most amazing feeling it is to be a parent. We’re enjoying every single moment we have with her, and need a pause button so we fully experience each moment with her to the fullest extent! To play catch up though, we really didn’t have a very eventful last month of our pregnancy, thank goodness! Here are some highlights: Christmas Eve – During the day, we made Shelley’s Family tradition, Chex Mix, and ate Chili, a family tradition of Dave’s. That evening we were invited to spend Christmas Eve with our friend Kristin and her family. We had Chinese food for dinner, played Wii Trivia and really enjoyed our time! We stayed in Las Vegas over Christmas since Shelley was too far along in the pregnancy to safely travel. It was the first Christmas either of us spent away from our immediate family.
Christmas Day – We had breakfast casserole and cheese cake…we opened our presents and eventually made it to our friend’s house – Brook & James and their children. We had lunch/dinner with them and enjoyed the family atmosphere. New Year’s Eve – We celebrated New Year’s Eve at Town Square, at the restaurant Cadillac Ranch. A large group of our friends got together for dinner – we left after dinner and watched the actual New Year on television – we didn’t think it was the best idea to have a 9 month pregnant women out on NYE
