Gibson's 6th Grade Reading Department (Shelley and Mrs. Alloway - pictured in the top photo with the speaker) arranged to have a Holocaust Survivor come and speak to all of the 6th grade students. We just finished reading The Girl Who Survived (which is a True Story about a girl who survived the Holocaust). Alexander Kuchele was an amazing speaker. He told his own story (which was incredibly parallel to what the student just read) and completely fascinated the students. It was an amazing experience, and something we stressed to our students, and quite a privileged.
