The Latest...

A baby shower was hosted by our friend's in Vegas for Baby Girl Kress on November 20th. It was held at our friend Lisa's house, and had an amazing turn-out (despite the weather)! They had several fun games and wonderful food!! Again, our friends were so incredibly generous and those that planned out the shower went "overboard!" They had balloons, decorations, prizes…even a special bowl of Skittles. They had every detail figured out!!! And, our good friend Kristin MADE the cake for us!!! It was incredible!! Baby Girl is so blessed to have such wonderful, fantastic people in her life.

We were both recertified in CPR this past month, and we paid special attention to the "infant" specifications. (not that we're EVER going to need to know that information) … however, we do feel fully informed about the necessary steps we would need to take. Check that one off the "to do before baby comes" list :

We've been having a bit of a "mess" with our OBGYN. Dr. Brill has been on a Family Emergency since the beginning of November. We've had to see one of his partners for our appointments, Dr. Kelly. It has ended up being a good thing though, because now if Dr. Brill isn't able to be there during the delivery, we know Dr. Kelly. Also, I would rather have Dr. Brill out now, than in January!!! We have an appointment tomorrow, so hopefully Dr. Brill is there!

We've also had several "Meet & Greets" with pediatricians. We were recommended several wonderful doctors by our friends and collegues. We met with two of them, and accidentally ditched a third (Dave had scheduled a Meet & Greet on Black Friday…we totally spaced on going!! We think it's God's way of telling us NOT to go to that doctor!!!). We liked both of the other doctors we did see, but the one we're most likely going to go with is the Chief of Pediatrics at Summerlin Hospital (where we will deliver). That is a massive plus for him!!!

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house, and everyone pitched in "potluck" style to make it a special day. Kristin, Brittany, Jackie, Maya, Liz & Rachel all came to help celebrate. We watched the Macy's Day Parade, the Dog Show, and of course the football games. We also had the 2nd Annual Wii Bowling Tournament. Dave created a bracket, complete with a losers bracket. The championship ended up being between Shelley & Dave….and Shelley WON!! It was quite impressive. Dave & Rachel then embarked on a 750 Piece Las Vegas Strip Puzzle, that turned out to be quite addictive!!! They finished it within 24 hours though!!

The next day started later that evening. Shelley headed out to Old Navy at 11:30pm and waited for Old Navy to open up at midnight. There were (7) of us all out together, and it was the best Black Friday plan EVER. There was ALWAYS someone in line, and there were certain situations where we had "runners" for special items. After Old Navy, we had "breakfast" at Denny's…and then headed to Kohl's which opened at 3am. Dave met us there. We got some INCREDIBLE deals at Kohl's. Dave joked that he hadn't seen Shelley moving so quickly since she found out she was pregnant! We then headed to Target which opened at 4am. We ended up going to (3) different Target Stores searching for our Crib. We ended up getting it, and we to Wal-Mart to get our Glider-Ottoman set. After the world's WORST line, we headed home. It was about 6:30 at this point. Shelley took a nap, and Dave put the baby's dresser, crib and glider/ottoman together. The baby now officially has a bed : We headed out to Babies R Us later that afternoon and cleaned up our registry a bit. We had some gift cards that had been gifts, so we purchased some of the "required" things we still needed for the baby when she is still small. We're feeling quite prepared now!! The hospital bags are all packed (Shelley's & Baby Girl's) - we do still need to "organize" a bit, but we're getting SO close!!

Our house is all decorated for Christmas, both inside and outside! Dave has been channeling Clark Grizwald in his light display outside, complete with spotlights! We're fairly positive out house can be seen for the airplanes : It is such a wonderful time of year though - and such a special reason to celebrate!

We've actually found some time to socialize over the past few weeks…Shelley went to a Happy Hour at Gordon Biersch, and we had a dinner at Sweet Tomatoes.

We took our "maternity" photos this past weekend. We took the photos at Red Rock Canyon. We really wanted to focus these photos on our family rather than the belly, and they turned out beautiful! They really captured us as a family, and the excitement we both feel in our upcoming addition!!
