We started the second quarter of the school year on a good note – a long weekend!! In honor of Nevada Day, we got the last Friday in October free from school.
Shelley took Charlie (dressed as a Yellow Submarine – go ahead and sing the song) to the Dog Park for our 2nd Annual Doggie Costume Party. Everyone LOVED his costume and was asking about where we got it, etc. It was quite a hit! The previous week was Spirit Week, and one of the days, Dave dressed as Dr. Death, and Shelley was half devil/half angel. Then, in good tradition, a group of the ladies dressed in "theme" - Meet the Flinstones!!!
We were able to go to church on Halloween Sunday – and watched one of our former students become confirmed. It was wonderful to be able to be there for her J
We are also back to attending classes for our next step on the teaching scale. We have one class that meets on Saturdays (we did some Geo-Caching) and then two online classes. We already finished one online class earlier this sememster.
Shelley traveled to Flagstaff with her friends Brittany and Kristin over Veteran’s Day weekend. They were able to stay with some family friend’s of Kristin’s – and they saw the Meteor Crater, Sunset Crater (complete with Lava Fields) and Waitpuki Ruins. They also ate at all the Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives in the Flagstaff Area.
We had our first Child Birth Class – and they woman who is instructing the class is incredibly knowledgeable. It’s slightly a crash-course in labor/delivery. But, after only one class we are feeling more confident about when and when not to rush to the hospital J
Dave’s soccer season came to a close with an undefeated record – and only ONE goal scored on the Gibson Team the entire season. The school supported them with a Pep Rally that Dave organized and a wonderful turn-out for their final game. Go Scots!!!!!
