We were back in Vegas for the majority of August. It was nice to settle into the house and get things “unpacked” with some time, rather than a rush before school starts!
Shelley’s flight to Vegas was on a Friday evening, and it will be the LAST Friday flight she ever takes. It’s wonderful to be excited and motivated to win money in Vegas…but when it slips to pounding on the back of seats chanting “vegas, vegas, etc.” it’s gone a little too far!!!
We joined Sam’s Club in an attempt to start saving some money…but so far we feel like we’re spending more and more J
We were able to have dinner for Brittany and Kristin at our house, and get caught-up after our summers. We also went to a 51’s game which was a nice evening!
Teachers were able to go into the Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage for free, which Shelley took advantage of with some friends.
Shelley met up with some fellow teacher at The Yard House for dinner and an opportunity to catch-up from the summer.
We both worked a summer camp at Gibson during the last week of vacation. We had about 60 students that were able to come into the school and have an orientation opportunity to get used to the school and meet some new friends.
The Gibson staff celebrated the beginning of the school year at Main Station with a happy hour. It was wonderful to catch-up with other teachers and spend some quality time!
We were invited to the Kohorst’s Lake house to do some boating, but the weather was not in our favor. Instead, we spend the day at the pool and BBQ’d.
We were also able to visit with our good friends, the Bourgoins. It is amazing how quickly the kids grow up! We didn’t see them for about 8 weeks, and we barely recognized the youngest, Landon! He grew so much!!!
